# Advanced Property validation rule configuration

Upon switching to advanced configuration mode within the Property validation rule configuration, additional options become available:

- [Business critical](#validation-business-critical-2)

## Alias

Assign a unique rule alias for easy identification.

## Value from

Specifies the option for searching the value. Choose one of the following options:

- **Source** (default): Searches for the value from the trigger source.
- **Vault Search**: Searches the vault.
- **Specify:** Specifies where to get the value from. If selected, additional fields are available: **Static search filters for Value from, Dynamic search filters for Value from, Search results sort, Exclude source from search results**.

## Referenced object

*Property validation rules > Property validation rule [1] > Referenced object*

*Displayed only if Configuration mode within the Property validation rule is set to Advanced.*

Use this option when the property to be validated is not located directly on the source object but on a referenced object. Enter a property expression that points from the trigger source or vault search to the referenced object that contains the property to validate.

## Custom error message

*Property validation rules > Property validation rule [1] > Custom error message*

*Displayed only if Configuration mode within the Property validation rule is set to Advanced.*

Optional custom error message.

## Business critical

If set to true, the rule will be logged in SEQ.
